A Medical Instrument Tech, also known as a Medical Equipment Technician, is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and calibrating medical instruments and equipment used in healthcare facilities. They may work with a variety of equipment, including patient monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and surgical instruments. Medical Instrument Techs also ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and meets safety standards. They may also be responsible for training staff on how to use and maintain equipment, as well as troubleshooting and resolving equipment malfunctions. Additionally, they may be involved in the installation and setup of new equipment. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
