Job Description

The Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Being a Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician may prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. Receives and stocks incoming supplies. In addition, Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician may be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or supervisor. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). Being a Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision.
