Workers Compensation Administrator II administers the workers' compensation program for an organization. Implements a consistent process for recording, investigating, and reporting workers' compensation claims complying with laws and regulations. Being a Workers Compensation Administrator II prepares and submits required reporting and documentation to OSHA, state and local agencies, and other entities. Monitors all claims and liaises with the employees, managers, insurance representatives, union representatives, medical staff, and attorneys involved with a case. Additionally, Workers Compensation Administrator II communicates case status details and necessary information to involved parties, including notifications of hearings, outcomes, return to work, or restrictions. Performs periodic reviews of overall cases to identify trends. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all regulations and laws for reporting workers' compensation. May coordinate or assist with safety programs focused on injury prevention or facilitate accommodations for workers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Workers Compensation Administrator II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     AvantGarde, LLC (AG) seeks to engage a Workers Compensation Specialist who will be responsible for providing support to the AG client on site at the United States Capitol Police (USCP), a Title II agency, in the Office of Workforce Relations by providing analytical and advisory support related to Workers Compensation.

    AG offers a comprehensive benefit package including a monthly commuter benefit worth $3,000 annually as well as immediate 401k and medical enrollment. This is a full-time position and telework eligible with 3 days remote and 2 days on-site.


    The Work*

    • Responsible for uploading and verifying documents and cases into E-Comp (DOL website).
    • Manage customer inquiries and be able to provide assistance to workforce staff regarding questions related to applications and status of cases.
    • Develop materials for training workforce staff and provide requested reports to advise senior managers regarding current chargeback analysis and status of cases w/ DOL or w/in USCP.
    • Advise workforce on filling of CA-1, CA-2, CA-7, and other forms and direct them how to submit form appropriately and in a timely manner.
    • Submit all forms required of the Agency/Component/Directorate to DOL in a timely manner and ensure documents that are submitted on behalf of the Agency/Component/Directorate are accurate.
    • Develop and maintain an internal tracking system to include weekly updates to cases.
    • Maintain contact w/ employees that are away from the workplace and provide appropriate customer service updates.
    • Coordination w/ timekeepers and other staff regarding proper codes and Continuation of Pay information is provided.
    • Serve as liaison between DOL and USCP.

    The Requirements*

    • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite to include Microsoft Sharepoint.
    • Ability to draft correspondence for claims made to third parties related to appeals.
    • Demonstrated customer service skills.
    • Ability to manage scheduled awards program and provide regular reports regarding payments.
    • Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience w/ Federal Employee’s Compensation Program, to include the adjudication of claims, correspondence w/ claimant, representatives, agency leadership, witnesses, medical practitioners, and possible investigators as necessary.
    • Experience handling challenges to Federal Employee Compensation Act claims.
    • Demonstrated experience working with DOL regarding requests for vocational rehabilitation for employees.
    • Experience managing charge back documentation from DOL and providing appropriate challenges and requests for medical information.
    • Ability to track and review detailed medical documents.

    Other Specifications*

    • Operation of a PC in an office environment
    • This is a primarily sedentary position.
    • Some bending, light lifting may be required.
    • Must be willing to work on site in SW Washington DC
    • Must work on a pre-arranged and approved schedule within normal work hours (i.e., between the hours of 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.).
    • Must pass a standard USCP background suitability check.
    • The ability to work offsite after a suitable acclimation period.
