    Job Summary

    • Southeast Emulsions is currently accepting applications for the position of: Bulk Liquid Terminal Operator.
    • This is a full-time position with a guaranteed 40-hour work week and opportunities for advancement.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Qualified candidates will be responsible for unloading rail cars, loading and unloading bulk liquid trailers, basic maintenance activities, certain manufacturing activities, upkeep of operational documents, and promoting a safe work environment by adhering to Colas safe work practices and watching out for fellow employees. Training and guidance will be provided.

    Qualifications and Competencies

    • High School Diploma (required)
    • Mechanical experience: welding, pipe fitting and other mechanical experience (preferred)
    • Commitment to being on time (required)
    • Early morning shifts, 4:00am, (occasionally).
    • Weekend availability (occasionally).
    • Basic computer skills (required)
    • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. (required)
    • Ability to take direction and follow instructions.

    Language Skills

    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    • Ability to write simple correspondence.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with others in the terminal.

    • The noise in the work environment is sometimes loud, however does not exceed the OSHA requirement for mandatory hearing protection.
    • The employee must regularly work with hazardous materials (hot liquid asphalt) and chemicals.
    • The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather condition, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles.

    This job requires overtime including working weekends and holidays, and rotating work shifts to provide continuous “Coverage” for customer delivery/pickup. The employee's daily starting and quitting times may need to be changed in order to meet changing business requirements.
