About This Internship
Arch’s 8-week summer internship program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry. It provides challenging learning experiences that serve as a foundation for interns to explore their career choices and to develop professional skills. Working alongside some of the most talented members of the specialty insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field, participate in learning activities and receive ongoing feedback.
About This Role
Participate in education sessions and gain exposure to all aspects of property facultative underwriting, networking, and team-building opportunities.
Receive hands-on training with underwriters and the assistant underwriting team through repetitive learning.
Learn underwriting systems, processes, and account setup.
Assist the team with tasks that enhance your understanding of facultative underwriting while providing research and information.
Demonstrate the ability to achieve results by setting goals, prioritizing tasks, and staying accountable to stakeholders.
Collaborate with other interns on group activities, including the end-of-program capstone project.
Travel to other office locations for training, marketing, and events as needed.
Qualifications
Actively completing area of study in Business Administration, Business Management, Business, Insurance & Risk Management, Economics, Liberal Arts, Communications, or relevant program.
Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
College level - current Sophomore or Junior Student.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Microsoft Excel proficiency strongly preferred.
Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
Team player who collaborates effectively.
Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Location & Work Arrangement
The program dates are June 2 – July 26, 2025.
This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 2 days onsite and 3 days from home.
This position is in Farmington, CT.
Timeline

Pay
For individuals assigned to or hired to work in Farmington, CT, the hourly rate is $22-26 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
