Position Title: Environmental Engineer
Location: Lexington, KY
Purpose: To provide consultation services to industrial clients including wastewater, stormwater, air and emissions permitting, sampling, and reporting.
Objectives, Tasks and Standards:
· Regulatory reporting & compliance assessment for wastewater, air quality, stormwater, hazardous waste & chemical management for industrial clients
· Permit application preparation & registrations for air, wastewater, stormwater & hazardous waste including potential to emit calculations, chemical assessments, regulatory interpretation and regulator interface
· Feasibility studies on treatment methodologies
· Ongoing permit required data collection & calculations
· Environmental plan development including Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, Spill Prevention Control, & Countermeasure Plans, Groundwater Protection Plans & Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans
· Peer review & participation for larger projects involving multiple disciplines and contractors
· Participate in the development, administration & maintenance of environmental policies and procedures while working with federal, state & local regulatory agencies to stay apprised of regulatory laws
· Must be familiar with and & able to read regulations including RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, ERCRA & state regulations for KY DAQ, DWM and DOW
· Environmental compliance and management system auditing
· Stormwater & wastewater sample collection, troubleshooting & reporting
· Phase I & Phase II site investigations for commercial & industrial properties
· Provide review for reports for less experienced staff
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Strong verbal & written communication skills
· Intimate knowledge & application of Microsoft Excel
· Strong analytical & critical thinking skills
· Proven ability to work on & manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Detail-oriented & self-motivated with a sense of urgency
· Previous experience performing environmental monitoring and sampling preferred
Education and Training:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Mining, Geological or similar)
· 0-5 years of related experience
· Additional certification or licensure appropriate to the job may be required or preferred
· 40 Hour Hazwoper Certification preferred
Job Type: Full-time with benefits
Schedule:
· Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
· Additional work time may be needed based on project schedules
