Testing Technician performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records and analyzes results. Records data from testing in standard formats and provides results to product and engineering teams. Being a Testing Technician assists technical teams with recommendations to resolve testing problems, roadblocks or equipment malfunctions that impact the performance or validity of testing. Requires knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment. Additionally, Testing Technician typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Testing Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Material Testing Services, LLC is seeking a Testing Technician to join our Minot, ND, office.
Job Responsibility
· Obtain soil and aggregate samples from field
· Conduct field and lab testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt paving mixtures during construction
· Perform calculations and prepare field reports consistent with tests performed
· Able to lift 50 to 80 lbs
General Qualifications
· Experience in laboratory and field testing of construction materials preferred
· Self-motivated , independent worker with good communication skills
· Must be able to read and comprehend ASTM standards and applicable project specifications
· Technician Certifications in ACI field and lab testing and/or NDDOT preferred
· Nuclear gauge safety certification preferred
· Valid driver’s license and be able to pass a drug screen
· A two year civil engineering technology degree preferred but nor required
