Technical Training Manager leads the design and delivery of technical training programs. Determines training objectives by conducting analysis of overall needs and specific skill or knowledge gaps. Being a Technical Training Manager manages the development of training programs and materials including outlines, text, handouts, hands on exercises, and training evaluations. Establishes processes to monitor results and collect feedback on training instructors to determine effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Technical Training Manager assesses and manages any contractors utilized to deliver specialized training. May manage IT, product, or equipment training depending on the industry and setting. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to an director. The Technical Training Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Technical Training Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College at North Little Rock is an integral part of the Arkansas Technical and Community College System maintained by the State of Arkansas.

    Summary of Job Duties :

    1.Develop and teach specialized training programs which require a working knowledge of current industrial maintenance theory and practice, including hydraulics, pneumatics, motor drive, industrial electricity, programmable logic controller, and other advanced manufacturing functions.

    Other industrial, mechanical, electrical or chemical classes could be included, depending on experience of chosen applicant.

    2. Assist in coordination of Business and Industry Center classes, events, and outreach.

    3.Deliver training as needed including off-campus offerings, evenings, and weekends classes, as needed.

    4.Attend training and obtain certifications needed to perform duties.

    5.Responsible for maintaining safety in labs; including tools, and equipment.

    6.Collaborate with internal UA-PTC departments, external workforce development entities, and industry representatives to address current and emerging workforce education needs within the College’s service area.

    7.Collaborate with the Executive Director of Workforce Development and Outreach Coordinator in relation to strategic planning, program implementation, marketing efforts, and process improvements.

    8.Actively serve on college committees.

    9.Actively participate in community relations events to represent the College.

    10.Aid in selections, implementation and utilization of programs determined by industry partners.

    11.Update and maintain lab equipment to industry standards.

    12. Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications :

    1. Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and / or training;

    or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    2. Qualifications :

    Minimum : Working knowledge of current industrial maintenance theory and practice, including hydraulics, pneumatics, motor drive, industrial electricity, programmable logic controller, and other advanced manufacturing functions.

    Preferred : Applied engineering technologies (industrial, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineer technologist)

    3.Teaching experience preferred.
