The Director of Talent Management, reporting directly to the President, is responsible for overseeing and leading the full spectrum of talent management processes. This includes developing strategies for attracting, hiring, developing, and retaining top talent to ensure the organization’s long-term success. The role requires a proactive leader who can foster a culture of continuous improvement and development within the company.
Responsibilities
1. Talent Management
- Develop and implement innovative and effective talent management strategies to attract high-quality candidates.
- Support and advise the recruitment process working with both in-house and external recruiters from job posting through to onboarding, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
- Overseeing the hiring strategy
- Collaborate with hiring managers to gain insight into their staffing requirements, crafting tailored job descriptions and candidate profiles, and working closely with the recruiting team to meet those needs.
- Coordinate and attend trade shows and career fairs.
- Develop and implement successful intern and co-op programs.
2. Talent Development
- Design and implement comprehensive talent development programs, including training, mentorship, and leadership development.
- Assess and identify the skills and competencies required for current and future organizational needs.
- Collaborate with departmental leaders to create career development plans for employees.
- Develop and oversee performance management processes, including performance appraisals, feedback, and development discussions.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of development programs, adjusting as needed.
3. Talent Retention
- Develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement and retention.
- Conduct regular employee surveys and focus groups to understand and address retention issues.
- Create and promote a positive organizational culture that values diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being.
- Develop competitive compensation and benefits programs to retain top talent.
- Analyze turnover data and develop action plans to address retention challenges.
4. Leadership and Management
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align talent strategies with business goals and objectives.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in talent management.
- Manage the talent acquisition, development, and retention budget effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in talent acquisition, development, and retention, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing successful talent management strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
