Director of Supply Chain

Manages and coordinates activities, develops processes and strategies in procurement of direct materials in the organization to improve and maintain product competitiveness, continuity of supply, and ability to maintain appropriate levels of inventory. Reports to the Global Director of Sourcing.

Location: Blythewood, SC (hybrid)

Responsibilities:

• Plans, organizes, manages, and controls activities related to the procurement function.
• Aligns purchasing strategies to drive cost reduction opportunities through supply base consolidation, leveraged negotiations, resourcing actions, as well as development of new technologies in terms of raw material(s) and/or process.
• Influences commodity strategies to incorporate production control and material systems to support sales forecasts, target inventories and plant production activities focusing on strategic and operational plans.
• Develops and implements processes, standard work, work instructions and reporting methods regarding Purchasing and aligning to Materials Systems driving the establishment of KPI’s and meeting expected results.
• Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports and solutions.
• Develops a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and continuity of supply.
• Recruits and maintains suppliers along with supply base management that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
• Develops supplier partnerships implementing processes for the purpose of utilizing established continuous improvement tools, i.e. Kaizen, to identify and implement cost reduction and continuity of supply opportunities as a standard methodology across all commodities.
• Verifies and approves purchase orders and change notices.
• Responsible for activities that will result in material cost reductions.
• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.
• Oversees all activities related to procurement from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.
• Assigns procurement requests to the appropriate personnel and manages cross-functional tasks to fruition.
• Supervises and/or leads negotiations from suppliers and subcontractors.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
• 10 years related experience or training in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing.
• 2 years of management experience.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to speak effectively and professionally before suppliers or employee groups within the organization.
• Organized and detail orientated.
• Proven track record of negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $164,000.00 per year
