Student Activities Officer assists in the development, organization, and oversight of the university/college's extra-curricular programs. Sets up social events and has a participatory role in the Greek system, the student government, and student run clubs. Being a Student Activities Officer approves funding for various student activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Student Activities Officer typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Under general supervision, oversees, coordinates, and advises a variety of activities and programs associated with student campus life, to include the student government, campus-wide events, programming boards, and other related student programs. This position will advise ASUNM Southwest Film Center (Independent/Student Movies), ASUNM Lobo Spirit, and Mortar Board Honor Society.
This position coordinates campus-wide programs including Mid Week Movies (Hollywood Blockbusters), Red Rally, Homecoming, Hanging of the Greens, Cherry Reel Film Festival, Lobo Day, Graduation Flower Sales, Lobopalooza, and more. This position will assist with executing campus-wide programs including: Friday Night Live, Welcome Back Days, Fiestas, Silent Lights, Lobo's Got Talent, Harry Potter Day, Star Wars Day, and more. It oversees two to three student employees working at the movie theater. This position must be willing to work nights and weekends.
Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
