Student Activities Officer assists in the development, organization, and oversight of the university/college's extra-curricular programs. Sets up social events and has a participatory role in the Greek system, the student government, and student run clubs. Being a Student Activities Officer approves funding for various student activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Student Activities Officer typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. SUMMARY OF POSITION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The BSC Campus Police Department is a Community Service Oriented Patrol (CSOP) organization. Building relationships with the college community is an essential part of Campus Safety Officer (CSO) duties. CSOs are often the first contact the campus community will have with the department. Successful candidates will understand customer service principles, conflict de-escalation, diversity, and basic community policing concepts.
CSO positions assist the Campus Police Department in fulfilling BSC's mission. Hours and days may vary in accordance with the needs of the Campus Police Department to include weekends, holidays, events, and required training.
CSOs are responsible for maintaining security and safety on campus, as well as reporting all campus emergencies, including medical and criminal, to Campus Police Officers. CSOs are responsible for completing and maintaining reports and assisting students and visitors. CSOs patrol buildings and grounds and completing monthly safety inspections. CSOs are unarmed and non-sworn members of the BSC Campus Police Department.
CSOs are not required to have prior experience. Training will be provided.
