Staff Nurse - RN - Intensive Care Unit provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in the intensive care unit. Performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Intensive Care Unit assists physicians during examinations and procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress, records observations in patient medical record, and updates attending physician directly when necessary. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Intensive Care Unit typically requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Staff Nurse - RN - Intensive Care Unit's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Nursing is seeking a Staff Nurse to perform specific tasks to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager.
Characteristic Duties of our Staff Nurses include but are not limited to:
Percent of Time: 90%
Schedule: 36 hours per week, Day/Night rotating shifts or straight nights, 12-hour shifts
Location: Stead Family Children’s Hospital (SFCH)
Rotations: Every third weekend, every other holiday
Salary: $60,000 minimum at 100% effort to commensurate *This does not include differentials. Salary will vary based on years of experience and percent of effort.*
