Position Scope
The Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC is the largest economic development, chamber of commerce, and business advocacy organization in southern Colorado. We work with industry leaders, educational institutions, military personnel, government, and community agencies and a wide array of community professionals dedicated to developing economic prosperity for our region.
A manager manages events, projects, programs, and/or people with supervision and some autonomy. The Special Projects Manager develops and manages projects from securing sponsors, planning, and budgeting to launch and maintenance according to project plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Identifies project or event scope; coordinates with management or others to identify goals, time frame, budget, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources.
· Develops project plans including but not limited to goals, strategy, staffing, identification of risks, budget, resource requirements, and analysis of development alternatives.
· Develops, tracks, maintains, and manages project plan, budget, and timeline.
· Manages all facets of event sponsorship programming for Chamber & EDC events and provides regular updates to staff and leadership.
· Provides reports on project status; provides additional documentation on project as needed.
· Identifies, tracks, and resolves all project risks and issues.
· Establishes, modifies, implements, and monitors systems and procedures to enhance timely and efficient workflow.
· Develops and evaluates plan; trains, supervises, motivates, and/or develops project; manages schedules and workflow.
· Manages the maintenance and development of current programs and activities.
· Develops program evaluation system; monitors program improvement initiatives generated by evaluations.
· Develops and maintains program budget and ensures overall fiscal integrity of the program; pursues sponsorship or alternative funding and supplemental revenue sources.
· Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with community agencies and organizations; represents program at appropriate meetings and community events.
· Participates in fund development activities.
· Participates in the design and implementation of fundraising events.
· Supervises and leads one program manager.

Education and Experience
