Additionally, Sheriff/Police Chief typically reports to an elected official. The Sheriff/Police Chief manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Sheriff/Police Chief typically requires at least 10 years of law enforcement experience. - Oversees the distribution of statewide and regional West Virginia University sports content to other Nexstar stations along with AT&T SportsNet in Pittsburgh.
- Manages engineering and technology budgets and capital projects to the established budgets.
- Requirements & Skills:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, Communications, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience preferred.
- Requires a working knowledge of television and digital studio broadcast and production systems.
- Experience managing, maintaining, and supporting IT and networking systems.
- Communication skills along with organizational and interpersonal skills as well as report writing responsibilities for WBOY, Nexstar, and the FCC.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work flexible hours and be on call as needed for operations.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Fluency in English; strong communication, both verbal and written.
- Evaluates, selects, installs, services, and maintains station equipment and IT systems.
- Communicates and coordinates equipment maintenance and training with vendors/contractors.
- Works closely with General Manager and department managers to ensure station objectives are being met.
- Evaluates employee access and trains employees on station systems and equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
