Security Guard - Unarmed jobs in New Jersey
Security Guard - Unarmed provides security and guards buildings, grounds, materials, work sites, or other venues. Monitors security systems and responds to alarms, reports of issues, or requests for assistance. Being a Security Guard - Unarmed patrols an assigned location. Follows required gate-keeping procedures such as verifying visitor credentials, conducting inspections, or preparing paperwork. Additionally, Security Guard - Unarmed may operate an access control or identity system to control building access. Completes shift activity logs and inputs to systems. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. May require a Security Guard License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Security Guard - Unarmed works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The selected candidates will perform various security officer duties as outlined by contract requirements and site-specific post orders.
These Duties May Include- Access control for guests and customers
- Enforcing client and company policies and procedures
- Observation and reporting of fire and safety hazards
- Conducting routine foot patrols in and around buildings
- Reporting all pertinent issues and incidents to the operations manager, clients, and other department managers
- Interaction with a variety of persons including clients, visitors, public safety officials, employees, and the general public
- Writing reports
- Other assigned duties
Qualifications- Must possess a valid Guard Card
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have reliable method for transportation
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills
- Must be able to multitask
- Must be able to write reports
- Must be able to operate and maintain site specific security programs
- Must be punctual
- Previous security experience is preferred
