Work as part of the engineering team and in support of sales and customer requests to design HVAC and other mechanical and electrical products.
• Confer with sales, engineering, customers and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
• Support engineering, sales, and production team members as directed.
• Design a wide variety of products accurately and efficiently using SolidWorks.
• Search, research, and prepare specifications for the purchase of materials.
• Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, installation standards and specifications.
• Create and enter Bills of Materials into ERP.
• Create detail and flat pattern drawings.
• Maintain accurate document control including revisions and archive.
• Provide support for product assembly.
• Provide product prototype assistance.
• Inspect completed products, installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications.
• Complete accurate take-offs from architectural drawings with a variety of methods.
• Assist sales to generate Offers to Sell.
• Interface with internal and external customers.
• Investigate and test vendors’ and competitors’ products.
• Investigate customer or public complaints, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend remedial measures.
• Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential engineering studies and projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Engineering Degree or related discipline.
• Highly effective with SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD.
• 5 years’ experience in product design with HVAC related industry highly preferred.
• Design experience in sheet metal, steel, aluminum, aluminum castings, and plastic products related to the HVAC industry preferred.
• Familiarity with motor/fan, water coil sizing and selection.
• Familiarity with various fabrication/manufacturing methods.
• Efficient with computer and Microsoft Office programs.
• Familiarity and efficiency with ERP programs with Microsoft Dynamics GP being highly preferred.
• Active and effective listening and verbal communications.
• Critical thinking using logic and reasoning to identify solutions, alternate solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Effective time and project management.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced, customer driven engineering and manufacturing environment.
