JOB TITLE: OR Manager

SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Manager with a strong background in perioperative nursing to lead our Operating Room (OR) team. This role combines clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic surgical environment. The OR Manager will oversee daily operations, coordinate patient care, and ensure compliance with standards and protocols to drive superior outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)
Leadership and Supervision

Provide leadership to the OR nursing staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Supervise and mentor clinical staff, including performance evaluations, training, hiring, onboarding, and professional development.

Ensure annual staff training and training meet all regulatory standards.
Operational Oversight

Coordinate daily OR operations, optimizing resources, staff, and equipment.

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Manage staff schedules and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
Quality and Patient Safety

Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with perioperative best practices and regulatory standards.

Promote a culture of safety, proactively addressing concerns and driving improvements.

Oversee and track key metrics to ensure high standards of care and continuous improvement, including Infection Rate, Revisit Rate, Complication Rate, Adverse Events, and patient safety indicators.
Staff Development

Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the OR team.

Facilitate education and training programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Communication and Collaboration
-
Act as a liaison between the OR, clinic, doctors, and leadership to foster effective communication and operational alignment.

Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to enhance patient care coordination and resolve issues.
Supplies, Inventory, and Budget Management

Develop and manage the OR budget in collaboration with the administrative team, ensuring cost-effectiveness.

Maintain adequate inventory of consumables, surgical equipment, and necessary supplies.

Coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, and replacements as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
-
Current RN license in Utah.

Associate’s degree is required; a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is preferred.

3 years of perioperative nursing experience with demonstrated leadership abilities.

CNOR certification is highly desirable.

Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and to talk and hear. Employees may be occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds along with pushing and pulling on higher BMI patients. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to risk of infectious diseases when interacting with patients and/or family members. The employee may be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
