Responsibilities

- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, promoting social interaction and engagement.
- Help residents navigate daily routines while respecting their independence and dignity.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in resident living areas and common spaces.
- Assist with mobility needs, including transferring residents safely using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in caregiving and dementia care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans for each resident.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving within a retirement home, nursing home, or home community care setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with systems used for tracking resident care and progress is advantageous.
- Knowledge of dementia care principles is a plus, along with the ability to provide compassionate support to individuals facing cognitive challenges.
- A valid driver's license may be required for transportation purposes within the facility or community.
