Research and Development Supervisor supervises activities in the research and development department. Oversees personnel who utilize established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data and write technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations. Being a Research and Development Supervisor ensures proper procedure, and helps devise new development techniques. A level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Additionally, Research and Development Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. The Group You’ll Be A Part Of
The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.
The Impact You’ll Make
Evaluates and manages new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures. Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives. Defines vision, strategies, and tactics. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
What You’ll Do
Customer Strategy Development- Key driver in developing by-customer Spares strategy and objectives for market share defense in partnership with global and regional account teams
- Work with regional teams, CSBG product lines, and Product Groups to successfully implement defense strategies with all available defense tactics and tools
- Develop and monitor revenue, profitability, and market share metrics for the Spares business at your customer, by fab and by product family
- Own the alignment of region, CSBG, and PG on market share and profitability objectives and drive actions to achieve those objectives, via regular account review meetings
- Develop commercial deals and contracts to preserve Spares market share while providing mutually beneficial terms for Lam and its customers
- Ensure that spare parts are accurately priced for the value delivered to the customer
- Primary advocate for CSBG field personnel and customers on all Spares issues. Responsible for recruiting support and resources within CSBG to resolve Spares issues at the customer
- Work with Product Marketing to develop and deliver value-selling collateral for high-value and/or high-volume spare parts
- Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM subject and 8 years Semiconductor Industry experience.
- Familiarity with one or more families of semiconductor equipment, in either deposition or etch
- Excellent collaborator & communicator, forms cross-functional partnerships to get things done
- Competence with data analysis in Excel involving large data sets
- Prior experience in business development, customer strategy and/or commercial deal creation
- Ability to lay out clear messages and value propositions in clean and concise collateral
- Familiarity with semiconductor after system sales businesses
