Regional Manager Position
The Regional Manager is accountable for the performance of the Restaurant Management Teams of their region. The Regional Manager ensures that each Restaurant Management Team is performing their job responsibilities and meeting expectations in all areas of their job descriptions. The Regional Manager sets an example by being a hands-on leader in the day-to-day activities and operations of their restaurants. Responsible for creating a culture that reflects the company values, increasing sales and profits through sound financial management, and provides leadership direction and support to General Managers, Kitchen Managers, and all other Assistant/Supervisor/Lead roles in their regional stores.
Major Areas of Accountability
OPERATIONS – OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
· Ensure all restaurants in their region meet or exceed operational goals and quality standards.
· Hands-On Operator – In the restaurants a minimum of 4 days per week, including working breakfast, lunch and dinner meal periods. Available as needed to coach or cover during weekends. Works side by side with the management teams, coaching, and observing guest service and the quality of food and beverages products. Provides counsel on improving operational excellence.
· Ensures professional restaurant and team image through adherence to restaurant cleanliness, uniforms, and appearance standards.
· Leads weekly leadership meetings with each GM and corresponding leadership team and participates in P&L financial reviews.
· Enforces sanitary practices for food handling and general cleanliness of the restaurants.
· Works to create and maintain an enjoyable and respectful environment for guests and employees.
· Works with GMs and Executives in identifying potential problems and developing solutions.
· Supports GMs in immediately responding to all guest complaints and handles customer escalations.
· Leads product and systems rollouts with the support of the SRF executive team.
· Accountable to fill in for GMs when on vacation or out for other reasons.
PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT – EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
· Serves as a role model and sets a positive example for all managers and employees.
· Develops managerial and leadership skills and abilities of each restaurant management team.
· Conducts annual performance reviews of all GMs with the support of the Executive team. Supports the GM in delivering the reviews of the Kitchen Manager and other leadership roles as requested.
· Holds GMs accountable for completing onboarding experience with fully compliant paperwork and a warm welcome into SRF.
· Provides leadership with ongoing coaching and feedback to improve performance.
· Leads meetings with restaurant management teams (and eventually train/empower GMs to run their own store meetings)
· Consistently reinforce Sound Restaurant Family company values.
· Partners with HR to ensure employee matters are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
· Comfortable joining Executive team meetings and speaking to Opportunities and needs with a Solutions Oriented approach.
FINANCIALS – SALES AND PROFIT MANAGEMENT
· Responsible for achieving financial targets including NIBO, Prime Costs, and sales targets.
· Analyzes sales data and trends to identify opportunities for business growth.
· Coaches GMs on profit and loss statement reviews.
· Provides guidance and corrective action on labor, food, and other controllable measures each period.
