Punch Press Operator configures and operates electrically powered presses to cut, shape, and form metal, plastic, or other materials used in manufacturing operations. Performs operations such as blanking, bending, punching, and forming based on blueprints and other instructions. Being a Punch Press Operator responsibilities include configuring equipment and calibrating gauge settings, recognizing condition of dies, loading materials onto the equipment, feeding material through die, and positioning and removing parts from the die. Keeps a record of operational data and performs routine equipment maintenance. Additionally, Punch Press Operator monitors work schedule to ascertain production information, such as size, type, and quantity to be processed. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Punch Press Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. We are a full service printing and marketing design company located in Sarasota, FL looking for experienced Pressman, able to operate, run and maintain Ryobi 3302 2 Color Press and Multi Offset Press. Working knowledge and experience operating these presses are required.
Job Responsibilities:
-Set up and operate printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials
- Monitor and adjust press settings to ensure proper ink coverage, registration, and image quality
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of printing equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the press, such as paper jams or mechanical problems
- Collaborate with prepress and graphic design teams to ensure accurate reproduction of artwork
- Inspect printed materials for quality control, making adjustments as needed
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Experience
- Previous experience as a Pressman running Ryobi 3302 and Multi.
- Knowledge of printing processes, including prepress, press setup, and quality control
- Familiarity with various types of finishing/bindery equipment is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating CNC machines for machining printing plates
- Understanding of typography, color theory, and design principles
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software for prepress preparation and knowledge of screen printing techniques is a plus
- Forklift certification is a plus
