  • ABOUT THE ROLE  

    Project Managers are our front-line for all interactions with our customers and require an even and unwavering dedication to three key factors: Customer Satisfaction, Contract Compliance, and Financial Performance. Customer Satisfaction entails ensuring the customer is satisfied with the performance of work, resulting in positive feedback and potential future work.  Contract Compliance entails performing all work on the purchase order/contract in an efficient and professional manner.  Financial Performance entails managing projects with efficiency to reduce unnecessary/unforeseen costs and maintain consistent conformance with planned budgets. Project Managers will be expected to perform the classical roles to which Project Managers are usually assigned, including heightened competency in Project Management, Project Control, and Construction Management.    

    As Project Manager, the PM is accountable for overall project performance, direct management of the entire project, and acts as the single point of contact between the Company and the customer regarding project activities.  The PM is responsible for clearly identifying all issues requiring management attention along with their urgency and overall impact to the project, ensuring all project activities are performed within the guidelines of a project, and managing customer interfaces related to project outages and scheduling.  The PM will manage the project costs, including development of a recovery plan to stay within budget limits, strive to improve the project’s margin, and track the invoicing and receipt of all customer payments.  Financial forecasts will be reviewed and updated monthly.  Final turnover of the project will include ensuring the project meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.  Throughout the project, the PM will report project performance data as required to management and customers, organize project documentation using sound records management methodologies and provide performance feedback of team to their respective management.  

    As Project Controller, the PM is responsible for the information processes, procedures, systems, and data integrity of the project.  The PM will ensure that all information is collected and processed accurately, analyzed effectively, and disseminated timely to appropriate stakeholders.  The PM is responsible for managing financial and contract compliance, processing approved budget adjustments, and establishing, organizing and maintaining project documentation, including daily processing of DWR, PO, Invoices, and billing.  

    As Construction Manager, the PM acts as the Site Construction point of contact representing the Company in the field, managing construction activities according to contract, scope, and schedule.  The PM will ensure all subcontractor activities are performed according to PO/Contract, identifying resources required for the construction.  The PM is responsible for all timekeeping involved in the project, determining the frequency, timing and type of look-ahead planning events.  He/She is responsible for timely identifying any pending or actual changes to the work performed to the PM that may impact costs, schedule, contract, or customer relationship.  The PM effectively tracks all details related to changes to the work to ensure all accurate and timely Change Order Requests can be submitted.  The PM is responsible for Contract and subcontractor quality site documentation and identifying field construction problems and resolves via use of RFIs, performing field Quality Control functions and assembling punch lists in cooperation with the customer to ensure timely and quality completion of outstanding items.

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

        Assist field installation trades personnel as required by management to meet project objectives 

        Manage multiple jobs & technicians, providing detailed direction and instructions of member tasks 

        Review and manage team members time to make sure job codes and time are accurate for payroll 

        Promote and deliver safe working environment and maintain safe conditions at all time 

        Support all techs in job documentation, risk management, planning, and dailies 

        Submittals, test results, commissioning, as-built drawings, warranty submission 

        Oversee safety, toolbox talks as required for own and all projects assigned

        Review and approve daily reports for all work assigned 

        Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations, Project Sponsor, or PMO

        Attend site visits and walk throughs as necessary 

    REQUIREMENTS 

    PMP Certification (optional but preferred)

        Ability to read, understand and interpret project specifications, drawings, and contracts

        Ability to work with numerous contractors and sub-contractors in an efficient manner 

        Ability to read, understand and apply safety guidelines and financial accountability 

        Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork skills 

        Strong administrative, time management and analytical skills 

        Enforce all Safety Policies of Kaiva and those of the job site 

        Must possess OSHA 30 and Current Driver’s License 

        Proficient in the use of smartphones and tablets 

        Proficient in Windows Operating Systems 

        Detail-oriented 

    WORK ENVIRONMENT 

        Ability to travel up to 80% of the time 

        Potential exposure to inclement weather 

        Potential exposure to high noise levels 

        Potential exposure to hot/cold temps 

        Occasional evening/weekend work 

        Use of Safety Equipment 

        Load-lifting up to 50 lbs.
