Project Engineer - Construction provides technical oversight, review, and engineering analysis of construction projects to ensure compliance with time, budget, quality, and regulatory requirements. Reviews and approves specifications, designs, bids, contracts, drawings, change orders, and progress reports. Being a Project Engineer - Construction monitors project progress. Identifies and assesses engineering project risks, and develops mitigation strategies and solutions. Additionally, Project Engineer - Construction facilitates collaboration among project stakeholders, including architects, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities. The Portage County Engineer is accepting applications from persons interested in the full-time position of Construction Coordinator. The selected candidate is responsible for assisting the County Engineer in the review and maintenance of County roads, bridges, storm sewers, drainage, subdivisions, and other highway appurtenances, and providing design, construction inspection, project coordination, storm water calculations, bridge inspections, utility coordination, and customer service; performs other duties as required.
Minimum qualifications include a minimum of a two-year Engineering Technical Degree along with five (5) years construction inspection or construction supervision experience. Qualified candidates must possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and must be available to work overtime as needed and on short notice. Successful applicants must pass a drug screen. The rate of pay is $27.69 per hour commensurate with experience.
