Additionally, Privacy Director ensures that compliance monitoring, auditing, and remediation are effective. Leads research and prepares communications in response to privacy-related events or consumer, government, or media inquiries. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Privacy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     Valtech seeks a Data Protection and Privacy Analyst who is detail-oriented and knowledgeable in GDPR, CCPA, and other global privacy laws. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills to assess data security risks, develop compliance strategies, and ensure data protection best practices. Effective communication abilities are crucial for collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing guidance on privacy policies. Experience with web/cookie compliance assessments, data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and incident response management is highly valued.

    The Data Privacy Analyst will provide technical recommendations for our client’s compliance with North American and European privacy legislation. The Data Protection Analyst will work together with Project Managers, Data Analysts, and Web development teams on major web projects in various verticals.

    The Data Protection Analyst will support data mapping and compliance-driven data architecture. This includes working with a wide range of systems and services, reading technical documentation, and creating high to detailed-level data architecture mappings.

    What you will do:

    • Presentation and Communication Skills: The Data Privacy Analyst must have excellent communication skills to work effectively with development, marketing, and legal departments.
    • Investigative Skills: Ability to investigate compliance violations or irregularities, conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, and recommend corrective actions.
    • Data Privacy and Security: Knowledge of data protection laws, including North American and European privacy legislation (PIPEDA, Law 25, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA). Ability to implement measures to ensure the privacy and security of sensitive information, including creating and enforcing data protection policies.
    • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with compliance management software and tools. Understanding how technology can automate compliance processes, track compliance metrics, and facilitate reporting.
    • Data Architecture: Ability to organize data for effective use, including designing data models, setting up database systems, and ensuring data is accessible and easy to use.

    What you should have:

    Intermediate, a total of at least 3-5 years of professional experience in the following fields:

    • Professional experience in Data architecture and/or analytics.
    • Experience with regulatory compliance.
    • Experience in eCommerce and online customer journey is a plus.

    Platform knowledge:

    Having experience with one or more of the following platforms is a plus,

    • CDPs (Salesforce, Segment, Sitecore CDP, Realtime CDP (Adobe), Optimizely Data Platform)
    • CMPs (OneTrust, Didomi, CookieYes)
    • Analytics tools and tag managers (Google, Adobe, Tealium, Matomo)
    • Front-end web coding languages (JavaScript, HTML)
