Pet Care Operations (Patriot's Pet Care) is a state-of-the-art pet care facility in Columbia, SC. We are demanding, customer-centric and our goal is to expand our loyal customer base while creating a myriad of opportunity for our staff in line with their goals and aspirations.
We are looking for operational staff with two years of experience to oversee our day-to-day operations to do the following:
1. Dog Supervision and Interaction
- Monitor Dog Behavior: Closely observe dogs to ensure they are safe and comfortable in group play or individual settings. Watch for any signs of aggression, fear, or stress.
- Facilitate Group Play: Manage and supervise playgroups, ensuring all dogs are interacting appropriately. This includes intervening when necessary to prevent fights or injuries.
- Engage Dogs in Play: Keep dogs entertained and active by playing with them, tossing toys, or organizing safe group activities.
- Individual Attention: Provide individual care and attention, especially to dogs that may be shy, nervous, or require special care.
2. Feeding and Medication
- Feeding: Follow specific feeding schedules and dietary instructions provided by the owners. Ensure that each dog is fed the correct type and amount of food.
- Administer Medications: If needed, administer medications to dogs according to owner or veterinarian instructions, ensuring proper dosage and timing.
3. Cleanliness and Sanitation
- Cleaning Kennels and Play Areas: Regularly clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and equipment to maintain a healthy and hygienic environment. This includes cleaning up waste, mopping floors, and washing bowls.
- Maintain Grooming Standards: Ensure dogs are clean and well-groomed by brushing fur, wiping paws, and sometimes bathing dogs if required.
4. Health and Safety
- Monitor Health: Observe dogs for any signs of illness, injury, or distress, such as vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or coughing, and report any issues to a supervisor or veterinarian.
- First Aid and Emergencies: Be prepared to provide basic first aid to dogs in case of minor injuries or emergencies and know how to respond to urgent situations.
- Follow Safety Protocols: Ensure all safety procedures are followed, including proper leash handling, securing gates, and maintaining a safe play environment.
5. Customer Service
- Communicate with Pet Owners: Provide updates to dog owners about their pet’s behavior, activities, and health. This could include giving daily reports on how the dog interacted with others or any concerns noticed.
- Answer Inquiries: Respond to questions from clients about the facility, services offered, and their pet’s experience.
- Check-In/Check-Out Procedures: Assist with the check-in and check-out of dogs, ensuring proper records are kept regarding feeding schedules, special instructions, and emergency contact information.
6. Record-Keeping
- Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of each dog’s behavior, health, feeding schedule, and any incidents that occur during their stay.
- Track Medications and Special Instructions: Ensure that medication administration and any special care instructions are properly documented and followed.
7. Facility Maintenance
- Ensure a Clean and Safe Environment: Assist in the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, including organizing supplies, repairing equipment, and ensuring play areas are secure.
- Laundry and Bedding: Wash and replace bedding, towels, and other materials used in kennels or daycare areas.
8. Training Assistance (Optional)
- Basic Commands: In some facilities, attendants may help reinforce basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, and come.
- Behavioral Support: Help dogs with behavioral issues integrate into group play by using training techniques recommended by a supervisor or trainer.
9. Enrichment and Mental Stimulation
- Provide Mental Stimulation: Ensure dogs have mental stimulation throughout the day, including puzzle toys, treat-dispensing toys, or structured play activities.
- Offer Quiet Time: Ensure that dogs have adequate rest periods, especially after vigorous play, to avoid overstimulation.
10. Teamwork and Cooperation
- Work with Colleagues: Coordinate with other attendants and staff members to ensure seamless care, handle larger groups of dogs, and address any issues that arise.
- Assist in Special Events: Help with events such as dog parties, adoption events, or facility tours, if applicable.

Pay: $18,000.00 - $24,960.00 per year
