Policy Change Supervisor supervises a group of insurance policy change technicians to ensure that policy changes and requests are carried out according to established guidelines. Determines action on changes for which a policyholder has applied, but which are not covered by policy provisions, and computes costs or allowances for policy changes. Being a Policy Change Supervisor contacts policy owners and field agents with pertinent information that may affect a policy change. Does not have underwriting approval. Additionally, Policy Change Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Policy Change Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Policy Change Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     Job Summary

    This full-time Stabilization Program Supervisor is responsible for assisting with program management related to mentor services within Stabilization programming in the tri-county area. The Mentor Program Supervisor will assist with various aspects of leadership such as supervising mentors, ensuring compliance, representing the organization in interactions with community partners and miscellaneous projects, as assigned. Additionally, they will collaborate with the clinical team to ensure quality service to participants.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Supervises and directs mentor work, provides daily guidance and direction to ensure performance standards are met, regularly evaluates and tracks individual progress, and makes recommendations on performance ratings and professional development. Exercises independent judgement and discretion to ensure tracking and reporting of mentor supervision is accurately performed in accordance with OARS.
    • Attends and participates in individual supervision, group supervision, all-staff meetings, and other meetings, as needed.
    • Maintains and monitors documentation standards, working closely with mentors to ensure same day documentation is complete.
    • Coordinates coverage and/or performs mentor duties in the absence of mentors.
    • Manages recruiting, training, supervising and developing staff, resolving issues through effective leadership.
    • Serves as the point of accountability and decision making for staff and community inquires related to managed programs.
    • Assists in program development.
    • Assists with various tasks to ensure contract compliance, quality assurance, accurate data collection/reporting, ethical practice and effective operations, including special projects, as assigned.
    • Fosters an environment of teamwork and resolves issues through effective leadership.
    • Serves a diverse population effectively, through management of an assigned caseload of participants while acting as a peer role modeling recovery.
    • Works collaboratively with community partners in a professional manner, including regular interaction with participant’s counselors and/or parole/probation officers.
    • Facilitates classes and skill groups, as assigned.
    • Abides by organization policies and procedures, confidentiality laws, professional boundaries, peer support principles and relevant federal/state regulations and standards.

    Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    The following are the minimum levels required to successfully perform the Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities.

    • Minimum CRM certification with 1 year of peer support experience, required
    • 2 years clean/sober with a verifiable program of recovery
    • Free from supervision in any state
    • Personal vehicle, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Bridges to Change’s auto liability policy requirements
    • Lived experience related to population being served
    • Experience setting and maintaining clear boundaries with the ability to hold others accountable with compassion
    • Excellent communication, trauma informed approach and conflict resolution skills
    • Experience with crisis prevention and intervention
    • Ability to maintain high professional standards at all times with participant, staff, and community partners
    • Well-developed documentation skills and a strong commitment to quality management; ability to write accurate and concise reports while meeting tight deadlines.
    • Computer literate; functional ability with Microsoft programs.
    • GED/High School Diploma

    Working Conditions

    Environment and Physical Requirements: The Mentor Program Supervisor works in an office environment; however, the position frequently visits field locations including homes, courtrooms, recovery centers, and other indoor and outdoor locations. Those locations are subject to a variety of environmental weather conditions including rain, snow, wind, and dust. The position frequently requires daily travel by car. The Recovery Mentor interacts constantly with staff, visitors, program participants, government agencies, and others. The position stands, walks, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. The incumbent must be able to lift, push, pull and move files and equipment in excess of 15 pounds.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, forty hours per week with flexibility in scheduling. The Mentor Program Supervisor also travels extensively and may be required to occasionally work extended hours including evening, weekend and/or holiday work as job duties demand.
