Plant Superintendent supervises and coordinates workers' activities in all phases of plant operations. Develops and manages production and maintenance schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Superintendent utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and achieve production goals. Troubleshoots operational, materials, equipment, and staffing problems and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Plant Superintendent implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Superintendent manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Plant Superintendent typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. This position may occasionally require equipment and / or plant operation along with labor.

Compile, verify and record accurate production, QC, purchasing, inventory, and best practice reports as necessary.

Maintain positive professional relationships with all customers and employees.
Knowledge / Skill Requirements
Knowledge : Supervisory experience, construction and or concrete operations experience, computer skills, regulations governing areas of responsibilities.
Familiarity with, OSHA, EPA, and State and Federal procedures, practices and specifications as they relate to QC and production activities.
Decisions involving the above responsibilities are encountered on a day to day basis. The Plant Manager is expected to rely on professional judgment to make decisions while working.
Decisions regarding changes in company policy or major deviations in standard company operating procedures will require the approval of the Operations Manager or General Manager.
Work Hours : Individuals in this position can expect to work 45 hours per week.
