Plant Operations Manager jobs in Washington

Plant Operations Manager oversees the daily operational activities of a plant or production facility. Develops and manages production schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Operations Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Additionally, Plant Operations Manager oversees staffing and development of all production supervisors and staff and facilitates labor relations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Operations Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Plant Operations Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Summary

    Directs the overall hospital operation of Plant Operations, maintenance, and construction to include; physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utility systems, BAS and grounds of the District ensuring an operative and safe working environment. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of institution service systems in conformity with fire, safety, sanitary, and medical requirements. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Coordinates construction and remodeling projects, lease arrangements, and government requirements regarding small works regulations, zoning, traffic, and hazardous waste. Assures competency of all staff. Assists in formulating the budget. Maintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with all accrediting organizational, state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols. Based on experience and competency, management of additional areas such as Biomedical, EVS, and/or Security Services may be required.

      • 24 bed Rural Community Hospital - Trauma Level IV
      • 15 providers Rural Health Clinic
      • 72 bed, high level care, Advanced Assisted Living Facility
      • 42 apartment; low-moderate care level Assisted Living Facility
    Minimum Education

    Education Background and Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree Facilities or Engineering Management or 8 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Required Licensure / Certifications

    N/A

    Required Experience

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management position with 5 years of experience working in a related field.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Master’s degree preferred

    • Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District.
    • Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Administers and implements the maintenance program to ensure uninterrupted operation of the entire physical plant. Monitors its applications to assure maximum effectiveness and provides appropriate documentation of the same.
    • Responsible for the selection and coordination of all maintenance service contractors and ensures all contractual provisions are met along with established codes.
    • Responsible for developing the annual operating budget, which includes staff, equipment, materials and supply needs. Continues to monitor budget after adoption.
    • Administers and implements the preventive maintenance program of fire alarm system according to National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) criteria. Responsible for the development of policies and procedures relative to fire and safety.
    • Participates in the development and applications of standards of quality and productivity for the Engineering Department.
    • Coordinates the repair of equipment or recommends the replacement of or additions to equipment or physical plant as necessary.
    • Works closely with other departments and administration. Negotiates priorities, plans work schedules, makes job assignments, orders needed materials, supplies and parts. Recommends use of outside specialty contractors as circumstances indicate.
    • Schedules and supervises maintenance repair work, alterations, remodeling, minor construction and the checkout, installation and servicing of mechanical and electrical equipment and building systems.

    Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range ($50.76 - $59.79/hour) dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation increment increases annually.
