Plant Accountant provides accounting services for a plant. Advanced Vehicle Assemblies (AVA) is headquartered in Rochester Hills, MI with plants in Roseville and Milan, MI and Monterrey, MX.
The Plant Accountant is responsible for (1) the timeliness, accuracy, and propriety of financial information; (2) the improvement of processes and procedures and the organization of responsibilities to eliminate waste and maximize value-added in the department; and (3) the development of analyses and initiatives to support Operations and advance financial objectives.
The position is based in Roseville, MI but may require occasional travel to Milan or Rochester Hills as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Prepares accurate and timely monthly financial statements, and other analyses for management’s use in developing corporate strategy and judging corporate performance.
· Producing monthly forecasts in conjunction with Plant Management team.
· Analyze month to date data to create weekly flash updates for Management on the direction of the current month’s results in relation to budget and forecast.
· Analyzes and improves accounting processes and procedures for time and cost effectiveness, for elimination of waste and non-value steps, and for a better product.
· Develops and understanding of operational issues and challenges to maximize the departments support of Operations efforts and corporate initiatives.
· Assist in physical inventory counts and variance analysis.
· Assist with bank, public accounting, and governmental auditors and for collateral reporting required by the bank.
· Review plant purchase orders and AP transactions to ensure they follow company guidelines and for reasonableness.
· Other duties as requested.
