Pharmacy Service Clerk jobs in District of Columbia
Pharmacy Service Clerk is responsible for performing daily, routine tasks in the pharmacy such as answering the phone, responding to customer requests, data entry, record maintenance, and other clerical duties. Follows organization and department procedures to complete tasks in a timely manner. Being a Pharmacy Service Clerk assists with stocking and inventory tasks. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Pharmacy Service Clerk typically reports to a supervisor. The Pharmacy Service Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. 7 plus years of professional experience in a retail or ambulatory setting
Experience preparing and processing prescriptions
Calling physicians for refill requests
Obtaining pre-authorizations and verifying insurance
Providing customer service in person and over the phone
Counting and verifying medication
Certified as a Pharmacy Tech in the District of Columbia
PTCB required
DUTIES:
provide support to the Pharmacist in the operations of the pharmacy
Process and prepare prescriptions
Call physician offices for refill requests
Verify insurance
Obtain pre-authorizations
Provide customer service support in person and over the phone
Collect and process payments
Maintain and count inventory
Return inventory to the shelf
