Pharmacist - Retail reviews prescriptions and compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs according to regulatory requirements and guidelines in a retail environment. Responds to customers questions about medications and advises about drug safety and potential interactions. Being a Pharmacist - Retail manages the transfer of prescriptions, incoming physician calls, and drug utilization review. Ensures that pharmacy's patient and financial records are correctly input and maintained. Additionally, Pharmacist - Retail requires a doctorate degree in pharmacy (Pharm.D.). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires registered pharmacist(RPh). Requires pharmacy practice. Pharmacist - Retail's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job SummaryProvide daily patient focused clinical pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients of all age groups of Lakeland Regional Health System to include, but not limited to, medication dosing, chart review, patient education, floor rounds and physician intervention. Participate on committees and give special reports. Rotate through the distributive pharmacy as scheduled.Essential Functions
- Directly perform order entry in the pharmacy; Provide all of the functions as a staff pharmacist; Perform other duties as assigned.
- Provide patient and community education; Participate in the staff development education program; Provide clinical training to Pharm. D. students as assigned.
- Perform accurate and timely input of interventions and ADR’s.
- Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service. Adhere to the organization’s published values
Qualifications- Required Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- 2 years of relevant experience
- American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited residency in Pharmacy Practice Preferred
- LIC-Clinical Pharmacist - STATE_MI State of Michigan
- LIC-Pharmacist Controlled Substance - STATE_MI State of Michigan
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross
