Church Overview:

On Target Church is a Spirit-Led, Holy Spirit driven family church with a multi-generational congregation of 125-150 and growing. We believe in a supernatural move of God and desire a youth pastor who is ready to lead our youth and young adults into the presence of God! We run approximately 30-50 youth a week and many young adults during our Sunday services. We desire to build our youth ministry and are poised for amazing growth. We have a great vision for our Youth and Young Adults’ Ministry and have just completed a construction build, that added several new classrooms to include a youth room. We are also getting ready to break ground for a multi-purpose facility to expand our youth capabilities. We are looking for the right pastor who desires to work with an awesome team and that has great vision to take our youth to the next level.

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Reports to: Senior (Sr.) Pastor

Liaison With: Program Staff, Volunteers, and Church Administrative Staff

The Youth Pastor will provide Godly leadership in developing, implementing, administrating, and shepherding a comprehensive program, alongside our On Target Church Sr. Pastor. They will strive to develop followers of Jesus Christ in accordance with God’s Word, Vision, and Core Values of On Target Church.

Provide direction and pastoral care to the staff and volunteers of the Ministry, as they minister to youth. Shepherd, lead and build biblical communities for youths and their families.

Work directly alongside the On Target Church Sr. pastor to ensure church vision is carried through to the youth ministry as well as helping facilitate the maturing of the children as they grow into young adults.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Clearly communicate and execute the vision and direction of the youth ministry ensuring that it aligns and champions the overall vision of the church.

Write and develop engaging small group materials for leaders to take youths deeper in content as well as relationship.

Always be recruiting, resourcing, and training new and existing leaders.

To serve the church family by ministering to the youth through prayer, teaching and other aspects of building believers and equipping disciples.

Maintain needed office hours, attend all staff, ministry, departmental meetings. Actively contribute through sharing ideas and prayerful support to improve all aspects of On Target Church.

Regularly report to the On Target Church’s Sr. Pastor for accountability, encouragement, planning, and personal development.

Work with the Sr. Pastor and On Target Church Staff Pastor, and admin team to manage the budget for the Youth Ministry.

Maintain and coordinate the calendar for the Youth Ministry in support of the overall church calendar.

Organize, promote, and participate in youth’s activities including visits to youth’s schools, events, on campus clubs and events.

Organize, promote, and participate in youth ministry activities (i.e. Family Night, CenterShot, Vacation Bible School, etc.)

Social Media Expert, we believe strongly in reaching youths where they are, this extends beyond physical spaces and into digital platforms. You would be responsible for helping manage and run youth social media accounts representing Christ to our youths and our followers.

NETWORK! Build relationships with schools, clubs and other ministries around the community.

PERSONAL PROFILE

Has a personal relationship with and love for the Lord that is growing and desires to see others have this same relationship.

Demonstrates spiritual and moral character with a lifestyle that is consistent with the scriptural qualifications for an elder as outlined in 1 Tim. 3:1-7, Tit. 1:5-9 and 1 Pet. 5:1-4 and the On Target Church Constitution and By-laws.

Agrees with and will commit to the Statement of Faith of On Target Church.

Committed to moral purity and, if married, to a healthy relationship with spouse and family.

Love's On Target Church and is committed to the vision and direction of the church.

Possesses minimum of an associate degree, and preferably formal ministry training at either seminary or Bible college/school level. Prior youth ministry experience is encouraged but not mandatory to apply for position.

Shows competency in organization, administration, and interpersonal relationships to develop and work with a team to execute strategic goals in a mutually supportive and edifying manner to fulfill the ministry vision of On Target Church.

Willing to submit to the direction, guidance, and vision of those in leadership.

Ensure integrity and responsibility in all areas of the ministry.

Build relationships that lead to discipleship with youths and parents of youths.

OTC is seeking a part-time Youth Pastor. This individual works in partnership with the Senior Pastor, to direct a Youth Ministry, to include all ages of youth, in growing into disciples of Christ. This person will minister to youth and their families. We seek a spiritually mature, biblical, prayerful Christian gifted in leadership, bringing encouragement and vision for the youth ministry and the church as a whole. This is part-time, position of approximately 32 hours per week, with future growth potential to a full-time ministry position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads the Youth Ministry and coordinates the training of others to do likewise.

In coordination with the Sr. Pastor, create and implement an overall youth vision and strategy for the church.

Coordinate the weekly youth gatherings.

Provides opportunities for youth and their families to be directly involved in missions and ministry.

Encourages youth to participate in personal worship and praise through preaching, music, and service activities.

Plan, implement and evaluate the annual youth group calendar.

Develop and administer an annual budget for the youth ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church.

Share the gospel with lost youth/students and lost parents on an ongoing basis, both individually and cooperatively.

Work closely with any other teams in planning and preparing for church services or other church events.

Work with Deacons, Staff, and volunteers to accomplish our purpose to Love God, Save Souls, and Make Disciples both within our church and our surrounding community.

Term of Office:

Term of office shall be determined by the Senior Pastor and the Deacon Board. Termination shall be the prerogative of the Senior Pastor.

On Target Church is located in Thornton, West Virgina. The church is centrally positioned in the corner of 3 amazing counties. We are surrounded by beautiful scenery and mountain ranges. This truly is an outdoorsman paradise. In the summer you have access to biking, hiking, rafting, camping and so much more. In the winter you are, but a quick drive away to the mountains for your fulfillment of skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing or even just a mountain get away. We are also about one hour drive from Oakland, Maryland, and Morgantown, Fairmont and Clarksburg, West Virginia.
