Packaging Machine Operator jobs in West Virginia
Packaging Machine Operator sets up and operates a packaging machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Fills, secures, and labels containers according to company and/or customer specifications. Being a Packaging Machine Operator verifies goods packaged against package invoices. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Additionally, Packaging Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Documents inventory number and weight, and organizes packages. May make minor repairs to packaging equipment as needed. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Packaging Machine Operator works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Your tasks- Operate paper printing and bag converting machine
- Perform start-up of machine and adjustments if necessary
- Fix minor machine issues independently
- Perform regular quality checks on finished product
- Report order status on company's ERP system
- Clean the machine regularly
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Carry out any other assigned duties
- Shift from 2 pm to 10 pm
- Minimum 2 years of machine operating or mechanical experience
- High school diploma
- Hands-on mentality
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Handyman skilled
- Good knowledge of tools and industrial equipment
- Ability to work independently or with a group of people
