Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor supervises personnel engaged in diagnostic laboratory testing. Performs assigned phases of nuclear research under the guidance of Director of Nuclear Medicine. Being a Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor assists medical students with hands-on instruction and equipment training. Monitors inventory of radioisotopes. Additionally, Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine. The Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Job Description

    Join the Naval Nuclear Laboratory as a Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer! In this role you will become part of the Nuclear Materials Management and Criticality Control (NMM&CC) unit fosters safe, efficient, and effective Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) and Material Control and Accountability (MC&A) programs for the Bettis, Knolls, and Kesselring sites. NMM&CC seeks an individual to actively work with the operations, engineering, oversight, and security communities to build and maintain a robust NCS and MC&A program. The Engineer should be proficient with NCS and MC&A requirements which they will use to provide reviews, mentoring, classroom teaching and qualification, and assess and document community performance to those requirements.

    The position includes observing work in progress, conducting interviews, reviewing records, inspecting equipment and facilities, following-up on previously identified problems, working independently on projects, authoring and publishing findings, observations and improvement recommendations, meeting strict schedules and deadlines, balancing multiple duties and responsibilities simultaneously and reporting nuclear material inventory at the Bettis, Knolls, and Kesselring sites.     Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 9 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 7 years of relevant experience; or Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part II qualified; or qualified SIT and 3 years EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Currently or previously CRE qualified; or 6 years as SRE; or SRE qualified and 9 years of experience.

    Pay Range

    $112,700 - $176,200 annually
