This position performs maintenance, troubleshooting, research and fact finding to respond to hardware, software, network (data and voice) and enterprise applications issues/requests in support of patient and nonpatient care areas.
Job Summary:
Requires good communications skills in both written and verbal format. Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, the ability to utilize call tracking systems to log all issues. Excellent customer service and service recovery to comply with department standards. Must be self-motivated, and able to work well independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be detail oriented and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adhere to task/project deadlines and manage changing priorities.
Essential Duties:
• Configuration of PC’s and printers in a networked environment
• Setup new PC systems according to LRHS software and hardware standards
• Responsible for monitoring software licensure and virus protection of LRHS computing environment
• Responsible for all network device troubleshooting and repair. Will participate in diagnosis of reported problems with equipment and services.
• Installation, configuration and support of networking hardware in accordance with LRHS and industry standards
• Engages in review of new equipment and software to support adherence to current LRHS IT standards, security requirements, and industry trends
Knowledge a plus:
• Cisco network and IT security experience and certification
• Meditech Client/Server 5.6 and/or Meditech 6.15
• Cerner Millennium, PowerWorks
• VPN and remote access technologies
• TCP/IP networking, LAN and WAN technologies
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED is required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in complex systems and network installation, implementation and support. Cisco network and IT security certifications are a plus. Must be able to lift/carry up to 35 lbs. Travel between facilities to for support related tasks will be required. Must have reliable transportation with the ability to carry LRHS equipment between LRHS facilities. After hours on-call requirements (after approximately 6 months of employment) around once every 8 weeks.
