Meteorologist investigates, integrates and analyzes meteorological data from a variety of sources, including surface and air stations, satellites, and radar to prepare reports and forecasts for public and other uses. Analyzes weather model guidance and issues specialized hazardous weather forecasts when warranted. Being a Meteorologist requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Meteorologist work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. JOB DESCRIPTION FOX 32 News is currently on the hunt for a passionate and experienced meteorologist to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities/Specific Duties Presentation: Deliver weather forecasts with excellent communication and presenting skills. Scientific Analysis: Utilize a strong background in science to interpret and simplify weather data. Storytelling: Convey the weather story using engaging graphics and video aids. Daily Planning: Guide viewers through their day with actionable weather insights. Adlib Capabilities: Exhibit strong adlib skills for dynamic and unscripted delivery. Graphic Creation: Develop comprehensive weather graphics using the Baron Lynx system. Traffic Reporting: Provide traffic updates and conditions during newscasts as assigned. Ideal Candidate Traits: The ideal meteorologist for our team is someone with enthusiasm for all aspects of weather - from the science behind it to the everyday impact it has on our viewers. Your passion for meteorology will be key in winning weather coverage consistently. Passionate about engaging and informative weather reporting. Dynamic and adaptable presentation skills.
