Member Services Director directs and coordinates all aspects of the health maintenance organization (HMO) member services department. Plans and directs policies and objectives for addressing member inquiries. Being a Member Services Director establishes service quality goals for the department and implements strategies to meet these goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Member Services Director typically reports to top management. The Member Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Employee Status: The DMS reports to the President/ CEO, and is an exempt, full-time position. As a full-time employee the DMS is eligible to receive all the Chamber’s benefits. The position will have limited supervisory duties over other staff members.

General Description: The Director of Member Services (DMS) is a critical management position on the Meridian Chamber of Commerce team. The DMS is responsible for all functions of the chamber’s membership including the recruitment of new members, retention of existing members, the management of the leadership development, downtown, and ambassador committees, and the sale of sponsorships to members.
Primary Responsibilities:
Membership Development: It is the responsibility of the DMS to grow membership revenue and increase total membership of the Meridian Chamber of Commerce. The DMS, in partnership with the President/CEO and other staff will need to develop and implement a member recruitment and retention strategy that can be utilized across the organization to grow total membership. The DMS will also be responsible for membership recruitment, a minimum of new member sales per month as outlined by the President/CEO in the annual budget.
Retention: It will be the responsibility of the DMS to work with the President/CEO and other staff to ensure accurate implementation of the retention program and track results. Additionally, the DMS will be the staff liaison to the leadership development, downtown, and ambassador committees and work with volunteers wherever appropriate to achieve the retention goals of the organization.
Sponsorship: It will be the responsibility of the DMS to manage sponsorship sales & relationships maximizing relationships and providing excellent return of member investments.
Events: It will be the responsibility of the DMS to build engagement of chamber members in conjunction with the chamber’s signature events with the support of the other staff members.
