Member Certification Manager jobs in Louisiana

Member Certification Manager manages the certification and credentialing programs of a professional or membership organization. Oversees the development of standards and testing materials. Being a Member Certification Manager develops testing schedules and resource requirements to deliver testing. Collaborates with curriculum designers and instructors to ensure materials present certification requirements accurately and are validated in the certification processes. Additionally, Member Certification Manager develops quality processes to ensure the testing and validation processes accurately measure certification requirements. Optimizes the certification process to ensure members are satisfied and resolves any problems related to the process. May evaluate, select, and monitor outside testing providers to ensure testing quality. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Member Certification Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Member Certification Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    A baccalaureate degree plus four years of professional level experience in hospital or nursing home administration, public health administration, social services, nursing, pharmacy, dietetics/nutrition, physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical technology or surveying and/or assessing health or social service programs or facilities for compliance with state and federal regulations.
     
    SUBSTITUTIONS:
    A current valid Louisiana license in one of the qualifying fields will substitute for the required baccalaureate degree.
     
    A master's degree in hospital administration, nursing home administration, public health administration, social work, nursing, pharmacy, dietetics, nutrition, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or medical technology of one year of the required experience.
     
    NOTE:
    Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.
     
    NOTE:
    A current valid Louisiana license in an individual field may be required for some positions.

    FUNCTION OF WORK:

    To provide policy interpretation, oversight, and direction to Medical Certification professional staff on a statewide basis.

     

    LEVEL OF WORK:

    Program Manager.

     

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

    Broad direction from Medical Certification Manager 2, other equivalent, or higher- level agency administrator.

     

    SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

    Functional/project basis and programmatic over Medical Certification Manager 1's and other professional staff.

     

    LOCATION OF WORK:

    Department of Health and Hospitals.

     

    JOB DISTINCTIONS:

    Differs from Medical Certification Manager 1 by the presence of statewide responsibility.

     

    Differs from the Medical Certification Manager 2 by the absence of supervisory responsibility.

     

    Differs from the Program Manager 4-DHH by absence of overall managerial responsibility for directing the functions and activities of the entire Medical Certification section.

    Reviews policy, procedures, and survey, or waiver operations for the certification of health, social care facilities, and/or individuals to determine compliance with federal regulations, and/or eligibility for provider reimbursements.
     
    Provides oversight for the activities of certification specialists, supervisors, and regional managers in the various disciplines to ensure that programmatic criteria are met and completed.
     
    Evaluates reports, survey, or waiver results, and provider responses to determine appropriateness of facility or individual certification.
     
    Approves or disapproves corrective action plans submitted by providers.
     
    Negotiates changes in corrective action plans with providers when necessary.
     
    Consults with prospective owners, architects, engineers, fire marshals, sanitarians, and administrators relative to the standards required in the construction of facilities.
