Meeting/Event Manager jobs in New York

Meeting/Event Manager manages and oversees the planning of live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the strategy and tactics to achieve the event objectives. Being a Meeting/Event Manager directs research of event venues. Develops a vendor network and negotiates contracts for catering and other event support services. Additionally, Meeting/Event Manager manages pre-event activities and post-event evaluations. Monitors and controls event budgets and prepares periodic management reports. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Meeting/Event Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Meeting/Event Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Our new team member will use a strong business acumen to help us build and implement a comprehensive knowledge management program, including basic data analytics. Arc’s Knowledge Manager will also utilize advanced project management skills to drive simultaneous cross-functional projects, including collaborating with leadership to evolve its information technology plan and infrastructure.  

     

    The Role

     

    This role will primarily focus on:

     

    • Managing and evolving knowledge management and business data processes and tools
    • Implementing best practices of knowledge sharing across departments
    • Capturing and facilitating access to all types of content throughout the organization (digital and paper, private and public cloud)
    • Designing and implementing information management systems for organizing and analyzing significant amounts of investment and other data to draw meaningful conclusions
    • Serving as a subject matter expert in the area of Knowledge Management
    • Developing an enterprise-wide records management approach, including establishing timelines and strategic plans for implementation and training, including onboarding and continuing training
    • Participation in the planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and deployment of new content management practices, including the selection, implementation and adoption of a new document management system
    • Maintaining and evolving the organization’s use of MS SharePoint
    • Maintaining and evolving investment information in the company’s CRM systems
    • Performing day to day process administration
    • Auditing process compliance on a periodic basis
    • Researching wide ranging issues from time to time utilizing a variety of online information sources
    • Liaising with Managed Service Provider (MSP) to manage company IT

     

    Relevant Skills, Qualifications and Experience Desirable

     

    • Data science, library science, information systems, information technology, or similar certification or degree
    • 3 years of directly relevant experience
    • Knowledge of KM tools and systems
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
    • Strong project management skills
    • Knowledge of CRM and workflow management systems, e.g., Affinity, DealCloud, Asana, Monday.com, Notion or Zapier
    • Knowledge of document management systems such as Worldox, NetDocs, iManage, Egnyte, or Docuware is a plus
    • Excellent computer skills, including Excel and other Microsoft Office apps

     

    Compensation

    Range: $90,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with knowledge, skills and experience.
