Medical Records Manager manages medical record-keeping operations and healthcare information management to ensure secure, accurate, and reliable patient information management that complies with data and privacy regulations. Follows established policies and procedures to ensure effective and compliant record management, makes suggestions for process improvements. Being a Medical Records Manager implements digital technologies and tools to gain efficiencies, facilitate record retrieval, and ensure secure storage. Provides training for medical records staff and information resources to end-users. Additionally, Medical Records Manager coordinates with clinical and technical professionals to maintain robust records management systems and manage data for analysis and reporting. May require a bachelor's degree. May require Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification. Typically reports to a director. The Medical Records Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Medical Records Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • We are hiring for Medical Record team member to handle the Release of Medical Record information at our location on the South side of Chicago in a large teaching hospital. Position is Full Time, and scheduled for Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.

    *Full COVID-19 vaccination required for candidate consideration*

    THIS POSITION WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

    • Greeting patients & customers as they come into the department, assisting those with health information needs or questions.
    • Verify the validity of medical record requests and accompanying paperwork, including POAs, subpoenas and court orders.
    • Use multiple hospital & provider systems to locate appropriate patient details.
    • Quality check information prior to release.
    • Completing fax requests for medical records.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Protect and maintain the confidentiality of patient’s medical records and patient information
    • Experience with medical records, medical terminology, Electronic Health Record systems, HIPAA regulations
    • Detail oriented
    • Ability to operate PC, copier, fax machine and other office-related equipment
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Computer and data entry skills
    • Ability to cope in fast paced environment and multitasking
    • Display a courteous and professional manner through interaction, appearance, and attitude
    • Ability to work in a team environment, team player
    • Excellent oral and written communication with co-workers, management and the public

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $15.50 to $18.00 per hour
