Medical Billing Specialist jobs in Iowa

**Job Overview**

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our growing company. This position is 100% remote but preference for a candidate to reside within 150 miles of Clear Lake, Iowa.

**Requirements of Position**

- Excellent communication skills, professional customer service, and problem skills.

- The ability to be flexible is essential. Hours are flexible but must have availability during daytime business hours.

- Must be detail oriented and a multi-tasker.

- Knowledge of medical terminology. Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding.

- Must be computer savvy. Preferred knowledge of billing software systems and comfortable with spreadsheets.

-Knowledge in the process of the claim cycle including:

Insurance Eligibility

Preauthorizations

Billing and Collections

Denials and Appeals

Accounts Receivable

- Maintain patient confidentiality as per the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)

- Must agree to a background check.

- Approximately 20 hours per week with possibility of more hours in the future.

-Position is 100% remote with preference for a candidate to reside within 150 miles of Clear Lake, Iowa. Need a secure, quiet home office area.

**Experience**

- Ideal candidate will have at least one year of Medical Billing or at least two years of recent experience working in a provider office or medical clinic. Prior chiropractic, behavioral health, or physical therapy billing a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
