    Overview: Under the leadership of the Superintendent of Schools, the Coordinator of Media and Branding will have experience developing and executing a multi-faceted communications strategy for the Caesar Rodney School District. The ideal candidate will also have a record of outstanding results and the exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within the district, in schools, with all local media agencies and with the Caesar Rodney community. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the district communicates effectively to all constituents throughout the District and community. The successful candidate will interact frequently with state agencies and media representatives with District information and event updates. The Coordinator of Media and Branding will also utilize the District website, social media outlets, and District mailings to highlight the District.

    Job Functions:

    • Lead and promote Caesar Rodney’s external communications strategy, with an emphasis on communicating the District’s events, activities, awards and recognitions with students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the community.
    • Serve as the District’s primary liaison between the Superintendent and media representatives and other state communications officers. Coordinate and monitor all media advisories, press releases and media interviews of the District.
    • Identify opportunities to promote and highlight the District in the media as well as on the District social media platform.
    • Coordinate with the schools throughout the District to capture and highlight student and staff programs.
    • Develop both proactive messaging and reactive communications in an efficient, precise manner that advances the District’s overall vision and Brand as needed.
    • Prepare District presentations, talking points, letters, brochures, electronic newsletters, and other tools to proactively communicate the District’s activities.
    • Coordinate the CR Report publication, to include coordinating and writing stories, programs and events, printing and distribution copies to all District schools and the Caesar Rodney community.
    • Produce Social Media presentations to be used for the promotion of District programs, initiatives, and marketing campaigns.
    • Create tributes, proclamations, certificates, and other written materials as needed to promote and highlight individual, team and school achievements.
    • Provide photographic support for District and school events while creating an archival system for immediate retrieval when needed (nights and weekends included).
    • Oversee the production of audio, visual, photographic, or visual materials as needed.
    • Support and attend School and District events as directed by the Superintendent.
    • Perform other duties and functions as assigned by the Superintendent.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (master’s degree preferred), with a concentration in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
    • At least 3 years successful experience in communications, with an emphasis on media relations preferred.
    • Proven experience creating social media videos, presentations, speeches, brochures, websites, social media, and other key vehicles of communication.
    • Proven experience implementing both internal and external communications strategies.
    • Superior project management skills, and delivery of results against tight deadlines.
    • Proven strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
    • Proven strong skills in working with websites, social media, and digital photography.
    • Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently, and to resolve organizational roadblocks.
    • Results-oriented with demonstrated ability to self-motivate and work independently.

    Salary: In accordance with the State of Delaware and local salary schedules, based on experience and degree. Benefits package included.

    • All persons employed by the Caesar Rodney School District are required to submit a criminal background check and a tuberculosis test.
    • Anyone offered employment is required to provide the following: proper identification (Social Security Card and Driver’s License), documentation of eligibility for employment in the U.S.A., completion of I-9 form, and completion of paperwork for the Delaware Child Protection Registry.
