Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor supervises the routine maintenance and inspection operations for a facilities mechanical equipment, control systems, power distribution systems, and HVAC systems. Assigns maintenance and repair tasks to delegate workflow and manages a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or work order system to track work orders. Being a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor develops policies to guide technicians on processes, best practices, and safety protocols. Oversees preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections to identify wear and damages and evaluate equipment for replacement. Additionally, Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor selects, schedules, and coordinates vendors and outside service providers for specialized repairs or maintenance projects. Ensures all maintenance, repairs, and equipment comply with established safety protocols and regulations. Experienced with facilities maintenance processes and may have completed a trade apprenticeship or technical training. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     • Five plus years of experience as a general maintenance technician in a factory environment with a broad knowledge in mechanical, electrical and / or plumbing.
    • Experience with Environmental Health and Safety training in Lock out / Tagout / Verify, scissor lift certification, NFPA 70E, and electrical. Skills & Abilities
    • Plumbing including pipe threading, soldering, and proper use of fittings.
    • Mechanical skills involving working on motorized equipment and drives, structural assembles and installs.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules and procedures, maintenance work instructions, and documented equipment specifications.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Ability to perform basic computer operations in the maintenance database, excel spreadsheets, and Word documents.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining critical spare parts inventories in the maintenance area.
    • Follows all established safety requirements while performing maintenance duties and stops to seek help if questions arise.

    • Perform furnace inspections on components such as fire eyes, argon panels, furnace cooling systems, and combustion air filters.
    • Perform Met Lab equipment inspections and preventative maintenance on components such as closed-loop water systems, sample polishing, and cutting equipment.
    • Perform inspections on all roof heating, facility exhaust, and HVAC fan and filter systems.
    • Perform EHS inspections of GFCI's, Emergency lighting, Power cords / strips, and fire extinguishers.
    • Perform daily inspections of facility part washing systems, air compressors, compressed air dryers, holding tanks, and evaporators.
    • Locates the source of equipment issues with maintenance supervision and works with guidance to rectify those issues to minimize production interruptions safely.
