Mechanical Engineer designs, analyzes, and maintains mechanical components and systems to meet specified requirements and standards. Utilizes technical instruments to develop specifications for new parts, modifications, or prototypes. Being a Mechanical Engineer identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of products. Utilizes CAD software and other design and modeling tools to plan, develop, and improve mechanical parts or components and communicate conceptual designs and specifications to stakeholders. Additionally, Mechanical Engineer conducts prototype testing to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems and collects and analyzes data for improvements. Analyzes and troubleshoots mechanical issues or failures to identify root causes and develop solutions. Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Mechanical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Mechanical Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. What You'll Do- Must be willing to learn and tackle new challenges
- Is organized and shows attention to detail, with a ""get it right the first time"" mindset
- Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
- Works well with team members or independently: gives an receives feedback in a constructive manner
- Makes timely and sound decisions; uses resources wisely
- Displays a positive, can-do attitude; maintains composure when faced with difficult situations
- Ability to stand and sit for duration of shift, for a minimum of 8 hours
- Minimum 5 plus years of industrial design and field construction experience
- Must be able to read and interpret mechanical prints and diagrams
- Professional Engineer license considered a plus
- Basic knowledge of computers and MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Must be able to learn quickly, multitask and utilize time wisely
- Have a strong background with technical writing to be able to write documents for operations and maintenance, explaining new or modified equipment
- Experienced with field work and understanding the customer's needs
- Meeting established target dates for projects
- Ability to work with in project scope and budget
- 4-Year ABET Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
