Job Summary:
Responsible for inventory planning and control of medical supplies inventory within the Materials Management organization from 3rd Party Just in Time (JIT) LUM, MD Anderson Warehouses, Storerooms located in TMC and HALs, all PAR locations in order to promote effective patient care and safety and cash flow and working capital efficiency
Job Functions:
Manages all inpatient and outpatient PAR inventory and provides Customer Service with stakeholders impacted by the unfilled, stock out, discontinued, rejected products. Enforce MD Anderson Inventory Policy, Create / Improve Inventory Procedures for MMS and Clinical areas, Participate in Cross functional inventory optimization for Clinical areas / Specials.
Responsible for inventory personnel administration including hiring, performance management and coaching for development and success.
Prepares and submits the daily/weekly/monthly inventory planning and control reports and makes recommendations to MMS Executive Director regarding purchase of supplies and equipment to achieve the ABC-VED planning strategy for days on hand.
Performs daily/weekly unfilled/stock out analysis as related to PAR and Storeroom warehouse and manages the inventory management system: Track Usage Trends, Demand forecast and level of precision, Manage Fill Rate, Track order fulfillment cycle, Identify inefficiencies and problem solve.
Leads the Service Excellence improvement efforts in: Safety and Infection Control, Customer Service and On Time PAR Go Live and adoption of IMS / WMS / TMS applications, Super Users support, IT architectural / configuration / integration guidance, diagnose and root cause system issues, Security Protocols.
Works collaboratively with external customers to develop, execute and problem solve value stream processes and metrics designed to ensure compliance of service delivery standards.
Serves as a resource to enhance patient care, to continuously improve information flow, to achieve optimal utilization of inventory, and reduce waste in the end-to-end value stream by mapping the inventory planning and control value stream once every 6 months, by facilitating the development of a roadmap towards future state and by deploying SMART actions & goals for the inventory planning and control team.

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Required Experience:
Five years of experience in inventory, logistics or a related field to include three years of supervisory/managerial experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Inventory planning and control experience, healthcare supply chain experience, proficient in Excel, specifically Pivot tables. Must feel comfortable gathering/consolidating, sorting and presenting data to executive leadership. Experience managing inventory and a team of analysts or similar that are responsible for inventory accuracy and tracking the financials.
