JOB TITLE: Logger DATE: August 2017
EXEMPT: No REPORTS TO: Branch Manager
SUMMARY: The Logger will use independent judgment and will be responsible for tracking inbound/outbound equipment of the yard. This individual will also be responsible for the inspection of various heavy equipment product lines at assigned Pacific Ag Rentals branch for any equipment damage.
The Logger will ensure excellent service to both external and internal customers (i.e.– Service Manager, Shop Supervisor, Invoicing Supervisor, etc.) in a timely manner by communicating missing, broken or damaged parts on outgoing or incoming equipment. This individual will also be responsible for helping maintain parts inventory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operations:
- Physically inspects equipment returned from rent in the inbound equipment area for any damage found and fills out
the equipment inspection forms.
- Expertly identifies, makes required repair parts list.
- Must take 9 photos of all inbound/outbound equipment and store on company computer system.
- Use dealership equipment, including forklifts and resources safely and proficiently.
- Take a proactive approach to inventory control by assisting and/or reporting discrepancies.
- Logs fuel level of returned equipment and makes notes on Log in/Log out Equipment Form.
- On a daily basis the completed Log in/Log out Equipment Forms need to be submitted to Invoicing Department.
- Must communicate with Parts Department for any missing parts on returned equipment to check with the customer to see if they have missing parts to return.
- By the end of each day all inbound equipment must be checked in and be moved off the inbound staging area and into the yard.
- Physically inspects equipment going outbound for rent to ensure proper preparation of the equipment is completed.
- Log-in/Log-out Forms must be completed for all inbound and outbound equipment.
- Maintains a high sense of urgency to outbound equipment by ensuring that Log-in/Log-out Equipment Forms are completed prior to transportation arrival to assure rapid service.
- Must have a high level of engagement with all equipment going outbound.
- Ensure all equipment that leaves the yard is logged out using Log in/Log out Equipment Forms and emailed to all necessary individuals by the end of each business day.
- Conducts and reconciles weekly inventory on all equipment and forwards results to necessary personnel.
- Maintains accurate daily perpetual inventory into the database of all equipment.
Customer Service:
- Communicates with supervisor and other mechanics about shop questions or needs in either written or verbal form in a clear, professional and efficient manner.
- Actively and aggressively looks for missing, broken or damaged equipment to help lower business costs.
General Requirements:
- Establishes and maintains effective channels of communications with management, coworkers, vendors and all other business contacts.
- Comfortable and willing to move/use equipment such as, but not limited to, forklifts, large tractors, water trucks, RTVs, etc.
- Ensures the use of equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, following established safety procedures, using appropriate safeguards, and observing common sense rules of safety in all on the job activities.

- Class C driver’s license required.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar work environment with a proven track record of strong organizational skills, effective decision-making and excellent people skills.
- Knowledge of parts operating system preferred but not required.
Computer Skills:
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
Language Skills:
- Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
- Ability to respond to basic inquiries and present information effectively to customers, co-workers, and management verbally and in writing.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to apply math concepts to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
- Good reading skills to consult equipment manuals.
- Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

- Work time is split between the office, shop and yard in a variety of weather.
- Regular time is spent in the office.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
