Lineman constructs, maintains, and repairs overhead and underground transmission lines. Performs site preparation tasks, including digging holes or trenches, installing anchors, climbing poles, and using equipment like digger derricks, aerial lifts, pulling and tensioning equipment, forklifts, and dump trucks. Being a Lineman installs wire and cable. Follows all safety regulations and procedures. Additionally, Lineman work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a valid Driver's License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Lineman works under moderate supervision. Minimum Qualifications :
· Journeyman lineman, or documented equivalent experience, with at least 4 years of experience working as a journeyman lineman in the electrical industry
· Working knowledge of applicable regulations applying to electrical line work such as OSHA, NESC, LOTO, etc.
· Ability to climb wood and steel structures
· Ability to effectively train others in a classroom and field environment
· Excellent communicator who is proficient with computers
· Class A CDL or ability to obtain
