Land Surveyor jobs in Ohio

Straub Surveying, LLC is seeking an experienced Ohio licensed Professional Surveyor to help lead a portion of our survey team as we continue to grow. We provide Professional Land Surveying services to the northern Ohio region using the latest technology including laser scanners and drones. Our primary service areas include Commercial and Construction, providing hands-on service between the client and a Professional Surveyor. We are diligent at understanding our clients’ business and helping them solve their challenges by providing timely, effective, and efficient professional service.

The successful candidate for this position will lead our Land Surveying Group and work side-by-side with our Construction Surveying Group. A passion for taking care of clients and staff is paramount. Duties will be to prepare proposals, win clients, manage staff and projects, calculate boundary resolutions, oversee drafting of boundary and mapping surveys, and invoicing of these projects. You will be professionally responsible for producing quality survey deliverables and covered by our Errors and Omissions insurance. This is primarily an office position, but some fieldwork may occasionally be needed.

Qualifications:

NON-NEGOTIABLES

• Professional Surveyor licensed in Ohio.
• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Previous project management and business experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a variety of survey project types including various types of construction layout, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Ability to work in a team environment - someone who shows respect for and consideration of others and encourages staff growth.

DESIRABLES

• 3D laser scanning knowledge.
• GPS usage intimate knowledge.
• Leica office and scanning software is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise land surveying work.
• Provide/oversee set-up calculations for field crews.
• Creation of Deliverables and review of others’ Deliverables with secondary review from another PS, as needed and/or desired.
• Quality Control and Quality Assurance of field and office work.
• Maintain appropriate and prompt client communication.
• Complete high-quality projects safely and on time.
• Implementation of current and future survey technologies.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
