I. I. General Summary: Responsible for assisting with all functions of the Production Control department. Oversee new program launch activities and assist with scheduling, forecasting, kanban system, and planning. Oversee the daily administration of PEFF.
II. Essential Job Functions
- Communicate with suppliers regarding goods and services for current and new models.
- Complete Production Control monthly reporting.
- Coordinate and communicate with all departments for product launch, model change, and ECI activities.
- Manage kanban system.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities as needed.
- Complete requisitions for appropriate approvals and account numbers.
- Work closely with Production Control department to ensure proper supplies arrive.
- Trace delinquent arrivals from purchase orders.
- Support revenue growth by working with sales and customers.
- Manage inbound logistics (route management & delivery frequency from supplier) to achieve best cost efficient procurement.
- Preparation for new model production. (MRP system master set up, packaging style study, etc).
Qualifications
III. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field required; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience
- Greater than 4 years of Production Control experience in a manufacturing facility required. Automotive environment preferred.
- Production Control program launch experience for new programs.
- Experience with Toyota launch systems and requirements preferred.
- Previous exposure to a multicultural office environment preferred.
Personal/Technical Skills
- Basic shop math ability required (i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Understanding of conceptual math (i.e., basic geometry, charts and graphs) required.
- Understanding of elementary statistical concepts (i.e., standard deviation, variance, etc.).
- Thorough understanding and working knowledge of automotive plants and processes, company products, trade terminology, quality management and control systems and techniques, manufacturing processes, tooling and equipment, and machine operation.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering documents such as automotive drawings (component, assembly, and equipment), technical standards, design specifications, general tolerances, critical characteristics, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Engineering Change Instructions (ECI), Prototype Parts Requests (PPR), and color instructions.
- General understanding of Toyota Production System (TPS) is preferred.
- Good understanding of seat, welding, door, carpet, and headliner processes are a plus.

- Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.).
IV. Work Environment/Conditions
Office: Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.
Plant: Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, etc. may be required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing and is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds.
